This Cookie Policy explains how For You Newsletter uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies when you use the Service at foryounewsletter.com. For a broader description of how we handle your personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which store data directly in your browser without transmitting it to a server on every request. We use both cookies and localStorage as described below.
Keeps you signed in between page visits. Set when you sign in and cleared when you sign out. Without this, you would need to log in on every page load. These cannot be disabled while using the Service.
Remembers whether you have chosen light or dark mode so your preference is restored on your next visit. This data stays in your browser and is never sent to our servers.
Remembers the names you give your newsletters on this device. Stays in your browser.
Remembers which tips you have already seen so we do not show them again.
Holds short-lived state while you sign in (for example which sign-in method you used) and the answers you have entered while creating a newsletter, so a page refresh does not lose them. Cleared when you close the tab.
The app can store its own pages and images in your browser so it loads faster and shows an offline screen when you have no connection. It does not store your newsletter content for tracking.
If you Accept analytics, PostHog sets cookies and localStorage for page views, autocapture, and session recording, and we also record a limited set of the same product events in our own database. Your distinct ID is your account UUID. If you Reject, none of this runs: we never call posthog.init and we do not record these events. A Do Not Track (DNT=1) or Global Privacy Control browser signal is treated as Reject.
Stores whether you Accepted or Rejected analytics so we do not ask on every visit.
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or sell cookie-derived data to ad networks or data brokers. We do not use third-party social media tracking pixels.
Browser controls: You can view, block, or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that blocking authentication cookies will prevent you from signing in to the Service.
localStorage: To clear localStorage data, use your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage) or the "Clear site data" option in your browser settings.
Accept / Reject: The cookie banner lets you Accept analytics (PostHog, including session recording) or Reject it. Error monitoring (Sentry) stays on because it is necessary to operate the Service. A Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal is treated as Reject. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the banner back. Answers you give when you cancel, pause, or delete (the optional "why?" questions) are feedback you submit to us, not analytics, and are covered by our Privacy Policy.
PostHog analytics opt-out: Choose Reject on the banner, enable Do Not Track browser setting. You can also opt out of PostHog tracking directly via PostHog's privacy page. If PostHog is not configured for the Service, no PostHog cookies will be set.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
